Check out the camping supplies and fly fishing gear before picking up a book on bird identification. Feeling crafty? There’s a yarn shop, bead store and plenty to satisfy your decorating habit! Need some help unwinding? Stock up on hand-crafted candles, meditation items or spa products.

For traditional American fare, there’s plenty of steak, burgers and pizza to be found. Choose at atmosphere of live music, sports bar or family style. And despite Olde Town’s size, it can boast its own microbrewery and winery!

Feeling a bit more adventurous? There’s authentic Italian, Thai, India, Chinese and Mexican. If you can’t be adventurous due to dietary restrictions, Olde Town has you covered! The local bakeries offer wonderful selections of sugar-free, low-carb and gluten-free goodies.

If you’ve got a sweet tooth to satisfy after your meal, indulge in a slice of cheesecake, some homemade ice cream or a piece of pie. Or grab a doggie bag of nostalgic candy from your childhood.

Ready to walk off that meal? There’s fun to be had in Olde Town, starting with the Arvada Flour Mill Museum. The Arvada Ceramic Arts Guild boasts more than 20 artists and if you get inspired, you can head down the road to make your own pottery or artistic masterpiece then have it framed.

Once the walking wears you out, give your feet a rest at Colorado Cinemas Olde Town 14 or laugh yourself silly at a Festival Playhouse production.

EVENTS

arvada-signature-eventsNo matter what time of year you visit Olde Town, you’ll find signature events the entire family can enjoy.

  • February’s ”A Chocolate Affair” lets the kid in all of you indulge in chocolate-focused activities, like a chocolate treasure hunt and chocolate cookie contest.
  • May’s “Ladies Only Sample Tour” is a gathering of moms, daughters and girlfriends and an evening of samples provided by local businesses.
  • June through September you’ll find a bounty of local farm fresh food at the Sunday Farmers Market in Olde Town Square.
  • August lets you relax under the stars on Friday nights’ Flicks in the Square. The family-friendly movies start at dusk.
  • October turns Town Square into a pumpkin patch with scarecrows of all shapes and sizes standing guard throughout Olde Town. Costumed kids love the Festival of Scarecrows parade, navigating the corn maze and finding the perfect pumpkin. On Halloween, local merchants hand out candy to trick-or-treaters.
  • December is festival month as the mayor lights the tree in Town Square, carolers sing and Santa pays a visit. Lagniappe is an Arvada tradition in which businesses thank their customers with small gifts of appreciation.

Of course, these aren’t the only events in Olde Town! Mark your calendars for the Tartan Festival, the Easter Egg Hunt, the Blues & BBQ Festival, the Sustain Arvada Festival and the Harvest Festival.
