Background:
The Arvada Visitors Center (AVC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that functions as the tourism arm of the city. The Visitors Center works to inspire travel to our community through marketing, advertising, social media and grassroots efforts. Ensuring the city’s restaurants, retail shops and attractions stay strong and vibrant is a top priority. They have proudly welcomed thousands of guests from around the world since their doors opened on 7305 Grandview Ave. in November 2012.
Our Why:
An investment in visitors is an investment in community. Visitors to Arvada generate sales tax revenue. One quarter of the City’s total revenue comes from sales tax dollars. This revenue helps pay for police services, city parks, improvements to infrastructure, and many other services that benefit the entire Arvada community.
KEY FUNCTIONS:
*Brand the Visitors Center as THE place for up-to-date and pertinent information surrounding all things Arvada. Brand the Visitors Center as an online resource and physical location.
*Act as a clearing house for information about the great places to live, work and play for Arvada locals, guests visiting the area and those considering relocation.
*Work to enhance and broaden the visibility of Arvada’s events, attractions, entertainment, and businesses to a wider audience (metro wide, regionally, nationally).
*Assist the local organizations who may have little to no means to promote their events and happenings by giving them a resource where their activity can be promoted via the AVC website/events calendar, social media, public relations efforts, and promotional collateral.
*Connect with marketing/public relations/event managers in all key organizations in Arvada; ensure regular communication and information sharing is ongoing.
